My son serving in Afghanistan. God bless you!

My son was the inspiration for the patriotic creations. He is in the National Guard and has been deployed to Afghanistan on New Years Day of this year. I wanted to make him something special before he left. Something that no one else made in canvas that I know of. Using the Guards motto and a few other things dealing with that branch of the service I finally settled on the pillow below. All Gave Some, Some Gave All. How appropriate! We miss you Howard but most of all, we love you.

This was made as a christmas present for my son before he left for Afghanistan. The front of the pillow above has a dog tag on it with his name and co. The back of the pillow has various emblems and wording on it. More coming on this type of thing in the future.

US Army 14th Armored Calvary

My husband served in the US 14th Armored Calvary and asked me to make him something out of plastic canvas. This is the result. It's a mouse pad which he displays on his computer desk with great pride.

Here is a bit of nostalgia. This takes us back to the beginning of America. The flag on the back of the pillow is a replica of our first flag. Notice the 13 stars that represent the first original colonies. So much history wrapped up in a small nut shell on this pillow. We'll assume you know your history and let it go at that. There is only so much space available on this free site.

Here we have a pillow to celebrate our freedom. The fringe work was a nice touch. After adding the fringe a small knot was tied in each one to hold it in place during washings, etc. There were a few small fireworks added to make it a bit more festive.

America Is Proud Pillow

Display your pride in America! Nothing is more fitting than the Eagle as a symbol of what our country is. The background of this pillow was made using gold. The stitch was a cross stitch type stitch. I've used this on more of the recent pillows we've made. It is a huge break from the continental stitch we used during christmas.It's a small stitch as well but gives it a bolder look.
