Our Background

It all started over 10 years ago. That is when we first began our journey with plastic canvas. There have been many mistakes and frustrations along the way. However, we didn't let that stop us. We were on a mission! So that leads us to where we are today. Creating our own patterns. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for a small profile about the creators of this site.

How do we begin to express our frustration with the pattern companies out there? We don't know about you but we were pretty sick of receiving patterns through certain company clubs out there only to receive the most tasteless patterns they had. Wasted money! We even went so far as to write the companies and tell them they were sending junk for the money they wanted. My daughter could make things nicer than that at 6 years of age! How many of you are sick of the triple prices on patterns that are actually good? I know I was! To top it all off, the plastic canvas section in the stores are non-existant anymore. They took our money but didn't put the supplies on the shelves. How much sense does that make? From what we can see, they mail out magazines with all the patterns they want you to buy. Your choices are very limited. One of two pages in the whole magazine are dedicated to the craft itself, if that! Has anyone besides us noticed that they have books and patterns listed as "new" and they have been out for years? Okay, you can clearly see by now our total frustration.

We have ventured out on our own to get creative and send a message to the pattern companies out there. We aren't going to stand for it anymore. Getting out our yarn (not bought through companies direct anymore) and canvas and making our own stuff. The things you won't see out there in their books. The kind of things more experienced plastic canvas lovers out there such as ourselves want. We put a little work into each item but to us it was worth the outcome. A nice pattern to be proud of and actually like. So we decided to exhibit a few of the things we have proudly made. Please note that this site was just created on 01/08/08 so we will be adding things very frequently. Be sure and check back! Who knows, maybe we'll be approached by a company wanting to buy one of our patterns...lol. Should we charge them like they would you?? Something to think about, huh??

Hi! My name is Chiryl. I live in the Pocono Mountains. My love of doing plastic canvas started many years ago. It was the challenge that caught my attention. There was no one to help me along the way. So you can imagine the frustration I felt at times..lol. My confidence has really blossomed with each task that was accomplished. So here we are, finally to the point where I can tackle my own creations on canvas. When not doing canvas, I spend time with the family, walking or working.

Hi. My name is Bonnie. Chiryl is the one who got me started in Plastic Canvas. She helped me along every step of the way. I enjoy mostly continental stitch, although I do quite well with some other stitches. I am retired, and also find time for writing short stories and poetry... Bonnie
